The NKP Tower was a mechanical interlocking tower until it closed. The tower was a two story brick structure.

This view is looking west towards the tower, the track closest to the photographer is the NKP Track to CP Junction. The track heading left to right is the A&S track, the left track is to StL T&E Crossing and to the right is either to Lenox Tower or Granite City.
This view is looking north west direction down the A&S track to Granite City or Lenox Tower. You can see the Granite City Steel Blast Furnaces in the background. The C&NW train is heading to Madison Illinois.
